Lesson 62 (Part 1)  Memperkenalkan diri sendiri (Presenting oneself)

If you have come this far you should be able to talk about yourself in Malay. I think you will find the time spent on this form worthwhile when you see the end result. This form will help you do this if you fill it out as indicated. You might want to make a printout of it for easy reference in the future (or even to make a little speech about yourself!) The resulting page will also enable you to carry out a simple but meaningful conversation in Malay. After saying out one sentence, you can ask your interlocutor for the same information about himself by asking him (in English, "him" includes "her" of course, in case there are any feminists here): Dan anda? (= And you?)
But first you might want to start by saying "Let me introduce myself" which in Malay is: Biar saya kenalkan diri sendiri or considering Malaysians' penchant for sprinkling the suffix -lah everywhere, Biarlah saya kenalkan diri sendiri.
And if you want to introduce one person to another ("Come, let me introduce you. This is so-and-so.") you say Mari, saya kenalkan. Ini ..... (followed by your friend's name).

Note: You don't have to answer all the questions. Answer only those that are meaningful or relevant to you and ignore those that you prefer not to talk about. Unanswered questions will not appear on the answer page! Cool, if you are printing this out for reference.
