Geneve Plage on a hot sunny afternoon

The Rue du Marché is the centre of Geneva's main shopping area with a number of restaurants nearby.

The Genève-Plage, a lakeside swimming pool complex, is open from June to mid-September.

An eye-catching display of water spouts at the entrance to the UN building in Geneva.

The green bench measuring 126m on top of La Treille park in the old town is reputed to be the longest wooden bench in the world.

La mouette is the shuttle boat that takes you from one side of Lake Léman to the other. There is quite a frequent service.

There is a flea market in Plainpalais on Wednesday and Saturday. Interesting market with foodstalls there on Sundays.

Carouge, a small suburb of Geneva that has a character all its own.

This bus will take you to the "End of the World" (Bout-du-Monde)..

Le Saleve (background) is where the cable car ride starts. Details.

Les Grottes. Brings to mind the more famous La Pedrera (also known as Casa Mila) by Antoni Gaudì which all visitors to Barcelona make a point of visiting. Picture of Antoni Gaudì's Casa Mila here.

Artistic globes along Quai Wilson (not a permanent feature).

The story behind the globes display organized by Terre des Hommes Suisse.
