HEROES' SQUARE (where the Millennium Monument is)
 The Millennium Monument is right in the middle of Heroes' Square (Hosok tere). The metro station carrying the same name is just across the road. |
 Nearby is the main entrance to City Park, reputed to be the first public park in the world and where ducks and pigeons coexist in perfect harmony. |

Opposite the Mucsarnok is another museum called the Museum of Fine Arts. So museum-lovers will be able to visit two museums while they are at the Heroes' Square here.

POPULAR HUNGARIAN DISHES (paprikas csirke, halaszle and of course the ever popular gulyasleves or goulash)

The paprika being the king of all spices in Hungary, you might want to try some popular local dishes using paprika such as paprikas csirke or paprika chicken (photo on left), or if you prefer fish then the fish soup with paprika called halaszle (photo on right - cost 950ft at a central market stall). If you are travelling on a shoestring the market is an ideal place to eat. A very filling bowl of goulash (with beef and potatoes) costs only 750ft (about 2.50 euros) here. And it is delicious too! Top it with bread and you'll have a full meal for very little.
Oh, by the way you can also take the popular Tram #2 at its stop near the Central Market.
