Every hour on the hour at night the Eiffel Tower is completely illuminated and gives a glittering display for at least five minutes. |

The T3a tramway line that passes by Chinatown is connected to the T3b line at Porte de Vincennes. The T3b line goes right up to Porte de la Chapelle. |
"Paris Plages" (usually held in July/August each year) makes it possible for everyone to go for a make-believe seaside holiday in summer. |
The Bois de Boulogne is an ideal place for jogging or rowing in the lake. |
The Institut du Monde Arabe near Jussieu is admired for its architecture. |
The Moulin Rouge has made the French cancan something of an institution. |

The Latin Quarter near Boulevard St. Michel is always teeming with people. With so many restaurants there you're going to have a hard time deciding where to eat. |
The Luxembourg Garden's main attraction is a large pond in the centre of the sandy garden where children play with miniature boats and adults laze in chairs. |
Keep an eye on your wallet in the maze of alleys that make up the flea market at Porte de Clignancourt. You will really need to bargain here! |
| (March 28, 2017) If you need to rest your tired legs and to have a drink or even a meal after a visit to the Clignancourt flea market, a good place is La Recyclerie, just next to KFC and near an entrance to the metro at Porte de Clignancourt. This place is not mentioned in most tourist books but is much-appreciated by the locals. It is much more than just a place to eat and drink though. Opening hours are: Monday-Thursday 12h to midnight, Fri-Sat 12h-2h and Sunday 11h-22h. The place here is so huge that you can stay for hours on end without being pestered by anyone, even if you order just a cup of coffee (which, by the way, you have to do upon entering, and then take it with you to wherever you want to sit). And if you have little kids do bring them along. They will be enthralled by the henhouse here. More on its official website (in French). |

Little India in La Chapelle where you can find sarees and Indian DVDs galore as well as Indian mangoes and spices. |
The Arab market at Barbes is open on Wednesday and Saturdays mornings and is one of the cheapest markets in Paris. |
Chinatown at Porte de Choisy in the 13th district is always a hive of activity. There is a second Chinatown in Belleville. |
The African market at Chateau Rouge. Why go to Timbuktu, Bamako or Dakar?

Dog-lovers will be happy to know that there is a dogs' cemetery near Paris. |
